The Hitchin Triathlon – Sunday 8th July 2018.

For more information: Hitchin Triathlon

Set in the beautiful surroundings of North Hertfordshire.  This is a sprint distance event with an outdoor 400m pool swim, a 20km bike section, the 5km run.

The event is held at Hitchin swimming pool, with the swim being 8 lengths of the outdoor pool (50m per length), you then exit the water and go straight into transition which is based next to the outdoor pool.

Upon leaving transition with your bike you will then head out onto a gently undulating course, with lots of fast flat sections, taking in some interesting sights. The route is 20.2km.

When you get back to transition you will then rack your bike and head out onto the 5km run that takes in parts of the town centre and Butts Close Park, where the event is based, starts and concludes. The run course is a jones wheel measured 5km and follows the racing line of the course (shortest possible route that can be taken).

This event is perfect for beginners all the way to experienced racers. The course has the potential for a PB too.

Standalone 10K  – Sunday 7th October 2018

For more details: Standalone 10K

The race STARTS downhill on Wilbury Road. After a short sharp climb the course flattens as runners head towards the Grange Rd roundabout at 1K. A gradual incline takes runners past Norton Common up to the Norton Roundabout, then it’s flat though to the 3K mark at Norton Village.

Runners head out into the country, downhill from the Church, and then over 1 small rise to the DRINKS STATION at 5K. Turning left onto the A507 By-Pass at Stotfold, runners pass 6K before a small incline leads up onto Hitchin Road. At 7K it’s flat at first past the two new roundabouts. Between 8K and 9K two more undulations bring runners to the left turn at the top of Wilbury Road. The last Km is flat, then fast downhill, before runners turn left into the farm to finish
